Less than 5 years ago I made a terrible mistake and purchased a 4 post car lift from Superlift. I'm a car collector and use the lift primarily for detailing, in other words I don't use the lift often. When I first took delivery of the lift the hydralic hoses where wrong and the instructions where out of date and incorrect. This led to a high pressure leak that sprayed out and engulfed both my wife and myself. I called Superlift and the fine folks there, includuing the owner, laughed at the situation. They weren't the slightest bit concerned that hydralic fluid in the eye can cause blindeness never mind about a high level of pain. they thought the whole thing was funny. Really great people to have spent obver $3,000 with.
Well unfortunately, last week I had to again call these great folks about a problem. One of the four cables that hold the lift up while your car is on it popped 5 of the 7 strands in the cable. Thank God I had the lift at it's lowest setting and was able to get the car down safely. The strands that broke, severed at the fitting at the end of the cable. Sure seems like inferior cable or workmanship. Anyway, I made another mistake of calling this company. I talked with the same yahoo that owns it or manages it that laughed at the hydralic fluid in the eyes several years back. This time he didn't laugh!!!! But at the same time he showed no concern whatsoever. Fine, no problem I called only to try and buy a replacement cable.
The model lift that I own is the same model number that they are still selling today. You would think that they would know specifications of their own product such as, length of the cable, diameter, etc, etc. Again my friend, the yahoo, told me that I had to take the cable off and measure everything about it. Again, no problem, I did that and called him back with all the measurements that he doesn't know for his best selling product that he has been selling for over 5 years!!!!!
OK, so what happened next? Nothing!!!! The yahoo was suppossed to call me back with the cost and availability of a replacement cable. I made a follow up call and still no info from him. So now its 5 days later and nothing from this clown.
Oh an interesting note: Yesterday when I knew that I was not going to hear from him, I found two cable manufacturing companies and ordered a cable. What was interesting is that both these companies have many, many, many, car lifts listed on their websites with dedicated replacement cables. I searched and no Superlift reference. When I talked to both companies, they said they had never heard of Superlift. BE VERY CAUTIOUS!!!! RUN DON'T WALK FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!
